Before founding Fuel Solutions, Bruce spent two years with Southern California Gas Company as a Vehicle Specialist in the NGV Group. While with SoCalGas, Bruce participated in the development of over 50 NGV fueling stations and worked with more than 35 public-sector fleet managers to develop their NGV programs, including extensive experience in vehicle design and development. Bruce's recent project-management experience at Fuel Solutions includes leading the development of the NYCT/Bronx, MBTA/Boston and Sun Tran/Tucson projects, all of which are based on the "fuel provider" or public/private partnership approach to developing and operating transit CNG fueling facilities. He has also been certified by the NGV Institute and Southern California Gas Company as an NGV Fueling Facility Planner, and is a Principal/Member of the firm.
Reb is a Principal and co-founder of Fuel Solutions Inc. He has managed most of the projects performed by the company since its inception, including the assessment, specification, development and installation of CNG fueling stations for more than 40 municipalities, transit authorities, counties, school districts and federal agencies. Reb’s recent project-management work includes providing lead technical consulting to the Los Angeles County MTA in the procurement of a $40+ million public/private-partnership contract for the construction and long-term operation of five MTA bus-operating divisions. Reb is also leading the design of a diesel fueling system for the City of Mesa (Arizona) Transit Maintenance Facility. Additionally, he managed the competitive procurement of approximately 180,000 Therms per year of natural gas for MBTA/Boston Transit for use in its first CNG-transit fueling facility. He has also been certified by the NGV Institute and Southern California Gas Company as an NGV Fueling Facility Planner. Reb has a BS in Economics from the College of Business at Arizona State University.
Rich joined Fuel Solutions in September of 2000, after working for five years at Arthur D. Little/Acurex, in the firm's Transportation Technology Group. He previously worked for Booz Allen & Hamilton, Inc., and the California Air Resources Board. Rich has twelve years of experience as a mechanical engineer, primarily as a consultant to government and transit agencies. He is an expert in the design of motor vehicle fueling facilities, particularly for liquefied and compressed natural gas fuels. His recent experience includes conducting a preliminary design study for a CNG fueling station at the Sacramento International Airport. For this project, he prepared alternate facility-site plans, and prepared a comprehensive life-cycle cost analysis comparing a conventional compressor-based CNG system vs. a liquefied natural gas (LNG)-based LCNG system, including various estimated electrical, LNG and natural gas loads for the different facility configurations. The study determined that the LCNG alternative would be more costly over the facility life cycle, primarily due to the high relative cost of the LNG 'source' commodity vs. pipeline gas. Rich also leads Fuel Solutions' design and engineering work in the development of garage modifications for servicing methane-fueled vehicles. He is a licensed mechanical engineer, has been certified by NexGen/Chart in cryogenic fuel-systems design, and by the NGV Institute as an NGV Fueling Facility Planner.
At Fuel Solutions, Rex provides expertise in the design, layout and drafting of CNG, LCNG and LNG fueling facilities and related mechanical systems. Rex has worked for Fuel Solutions since 1998. Prior to working at Fuel Solutions, he worked for more than five years with the Southern California Gas Company's NGV Group.
